EXPERIENCE
Tana is a senior at Villanova University, expecting to graduate in May, 2025. She is pursuing a double major in Communication Film & Media Production and Spanish Studies, and double minoring in Peace & Justice and Latin American Studies.
For the past 18 years, she has called Boulder, Colorado her home, but lived in the Philippines until 2006. Given that this is her fourth year at Villanova, she feels lucky enough to call Pennsylvania a third home as she works toward her Bachelor of Arts degree.

Acquisition and Outreach Intern | Women Make Movies
January 2025 - Current
In Spring 2025, I’m interning with Women Make Movies, a non-profit that supports and distributes films by and about women. As the Acquisitions and Outreach Intern, I screen film submissions, research new titles from festivals, and help manage the acquisitions database. I also work with the Outreach and Marketing Manager to gather blurbs from academics and join weekly meetings, screenings, and discussions. After my experience with Villanova’s Social Justice Documentary, I’m excited to be part of an organization that’s making media more inclusive.

Additionally, I led crisis communications and media relations, ensuring clear and effective messaging.

Filmmaking Workshop Intern | Bryn Mawr Film Institute

As a co-producer and teaching assistant, I guided 12 high school students through the entire filmmaking process, from developing scripts and scouting locations to filming and editing. Over six weeks, I provided hands-on mentorship, helping students bring their creative visions to life while building technical skills. The program culminated in a short film set to be showcased at festivals and events, giving students a platform to share their work with a wider audience.
Student International Documentary Director | Stained Glass Films
August 2023 - May 2024
I directed "Mestre Guga," an international social justice documentary in Brazil, leading interviews with 10 international collaborators to capture the film’s story. In addition to managing the creative vision through pre- and post-production, I helped raise over $20,000 to support related initiatives, ensuring the project’s impact extended beyond the screen.
